Grilled Brie
Forget the oven—try grilling your brie! Top the melty brie with fresh berries and a tangy balsamic glaze for an easy, impressive appetizer.

Ingredients
1/4
cup
balsamic vinegar
2
tablespoons
brown sugar
1
tablespoon
honey
1
tablespoon
lemon juice

cup
whole blackberries OR sliced strawberries
1/4
cup
fresh basil
julienned
8
ounce
wheel brie cheese
2
tablespoons
olive oil
1/4
cup
chopped pecans

Instructions
Combine vinegar, brown sugar, honey and lemon juice in a small saucepan and bring to a boil.
1/4 cup balsamic vinegar,
2 tablespoons brown sugar,
1 tablespoon honey,
1 tablespoon lemon juice
Reduce heat to low and simmer for about ten minutes until thick and syrupy (the balsamic mixture should easily coat the back of a spoon.)
Remove from heat and let cool.
Mix blackberries or strawberries and basil into the balsamic glaze. Set aside.
1 cup whole blackberries OR sliced strawberries,
1/4 cup fresh basil
Preheat grill to medium high.
Brush Brie cheese rind with 1 teaspoon olive oil on each side and place on hot grill.
8 ounce wheel brie cheese,
2 tablespoons olive oil
Grill Brie about two minutes on each side, until cheese is soft and warm and grill marks are visible.
Transfer cheese to a serving plate or platter and top with the berry balsamic mixture. If desired, sprinkle with chopped pecans.
1/4 cup chopped pecans
Serve. Make sure you have plenty of baguette or your favorite crackers on hand for epic cheese pulls and lots of dipping.
Notes
You can also substitute raspberries or blueberries for the blackberries or strawberries.
