Cranberry Simple Syrup
Cranberry simple syrup is the perfect balance of tart and sweet. This festive syrup is great for cocktails and mocktails or even drizzling over a stack of pancakes on Christmas morning!

Ingredients

water

granulated sugar

whole cranberries
fresh or frozen

Instructions
In a small saucepan over medium heat, add the water and sugar and stir to combine.
1 cup water,
1 cup granulated sugar
Stir occasionally as the mixture heats up to dissolve the sugar into the water.
Once the sugar is dissolved, add the cranberries.
1 cup whole cranberries
Bring the mixture to a brief boil and then reduce the heat to medium low and simmer for 15 to 20 minutes.
Remove from the heat and cover the saucepan to allow simple syrup to steep while cooling.
Once cooled, using a mesh strainer or cheesecloth, strain simple syrup into an airtight jar and store in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
Notes
Makes about 12 ounces of syrup.
