I’ve been meaning to do a photo recap post for a while but life happens. It’s been busy. I’ve been go, go, go, all the time.
In the midst of the go, go, go, I’ve been playing with some panoramics. So I’m doing something a little different this week and sharing life lately with a wide frame.
I’ve been slowing down a bit this weekend at home. Friday night I slept for 10 hours. I haven’t slept until 11 am since I was in college. Today, we’re headed downtown to see Katie’s thesis presentation. Her project, Being Atticus Finch, is about public defenders in Charlotte at it’s really cool. You should visit her website. I will share more about it in the next few weeks! In the meantime, here are some recent snapshots.
All stayed tuned Tuesday because I’m hosting a giveaway that I’m really excited about. Here’s a hint: #CLTbeer.
The view from Romare Bearden Park is one that can’t be beat. We were here a few weekends ago on a sunny Sunday for Katie to get some footage for her thesis project (it’s about Charlotte and public defenders and I’ll give you some details in this space soon!).
We skipped the St. Paddy’s Day pub crawl this year and opted for a more low key afternoon at the Whitewater Center. I love the Whitewater Center and look forward River Jam Thursdays every summer. Drinking beer outside makes me outdoorsy.
Sycamore Brewing’s patio is popping every weekend. We were lucky enough a few weekends ago to get there early and snag a table ahead of the crowd. The afternoons was spent playing cards and sharing pitchers. My current favorite is the Coconut Crunch Red Ale. Also Hot Box New Level Street Food? (on the left). Delicious.
At the end of March we spent a long weekend in Cumberland Island, GA, just off Georgia’s southern coast on the Florida Georgia line. It’s the only undeveloped barrier island in Georgia and is home to a national park, miles of maritime forest and empty beach, and the most interesting combination of wildlife ever (we saw wild horses, armadillos, and gators, plus dolphins in the surrounding waters). And surreal sunsets. Full post soon.
I know I complained forever about the end of football seapon but now it’s baseball season! We went last week for the White Sox exhibition game which made me nervous for the White Sox in their lives because they lost to the Knights really bad. I’m looking forward to a summer of skyline views and $12 mason jars of local charlotte brews.
Hope everyone had a wonderful, warm, spring weekend!
